41 Years of Roe v. Wade

Earlier this week marked the 41st anniversary of the horrendous Roe v. Wade decision by the Supreme Court. Since then about 50,000,000 unborn babies have been killed.

Only 1.5% of abortions are because of rape or incest. 12% are because of the mother’s “concerns” about her own health (note that that is not the same thing as a doctor saying that the baby is endangering the life of the mother). The rest are for reasons related to wanting to avoid the consequences of having a child, including 14% because of pressure from a man involved. (See Wikipedia article on reasons why women have abortions.)

Note that overturning Roe v. Wade doesn’t mean that abortion suddenly becomes illegal everywhere. It means it returns to the jurisdiction of the various states.
