Podcast – Building a Strong Foundation For Testimony by Being a Critical Consumer of Information

podcast

Even though I’ve been blogging about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the last decade, I’ve never really gotten into podcasts and podcasting. But that is starting to change. Blogging is great, but it requires active consumption and effort by readers. Podcasting, in contrast, can be consumed relatively passively while doing other tasks.

Nick Galieti, who produces podcasts for the FairMormon organization, has invited me to contribute to a podcast directed at LDS Youth and Young Adults.

My first contribution is a 2 part discussion about how to build a strong foundation for testimony by being critical consumers of information.

Part 1 is available today. Listen here:

UPDATE: You can also listen to the episode on the FairMormon YouTube channel:

Part 2 will be posted next week.

[UPDATE 2014-11-05: Part 2 is Available.]

While it is directed primarily at youth, what I have to say may be interesting or helpful to adults as well. It’s also a chance for longtime readers of my blog who have only ever read my words to listen to my voice and hear how I sound.

If you enjoy the podcast and would like me to produce more content in audio format, please let me know.

Fun fact: the two parts of the podcast were recorded in a single take while sitting all alone on a chair in the middle of my back yard, at night, in the dark, in the cold, with a microphone on a tripod and a small LED flashlight to help me refer to an outline and a few citations.
